Counter-Strike 2 has launched over night and has taken the community by storm but many have expressed their displeasure and claimed the game has been released unfinished and very buggy.

One issue that has been a common occurrence for many is the crashing and freezing of the game, deeming it unplayable for some. Here is what you can do to fix this issue.

How to fix Counter-Strike 2 freezing, crashing and not launching

Firstly, before you do anything, give your PC a quick reboot just to make sure that all processes have been restarted.

If you want to get two birds with one stone, check if your Windows needs an update, and if it does, update and then restart.

One thing many players miss when making sure everything is up to date, is their graphics card driver and when it was last updated.

The next thing you can do is clear the cache files on Steam. To do this, open the Settings panel and select the Downloads tab. You'll find the "Clear Download Cache" button at the bottom. Then select "OK" to confirm and acknowledge that you'll need to login to Steam again.

Additionally, you want to choose the power plan that favours performance over energy consumption (High performance power plan), and to do this, simply type "power plan" in your start tab search bar, click enter, and then go back to the "Power Options" menu.

Lastly, you can verify the integrity of your game files by right-clicking on the game and selecting Properties from the menu. Then select the Local files tab and click "Verify integrity of game files".
