Ubisoft have revealed Ghost Recon: Breakpoint PC features in the latest trailer. The publisher promise uncapped frame rate, ultrawide support and more. Also, Ubisoft and AMD have partnered up to bring FidelityFX features to Breakpoint.
Ubisoft's optimisation on PC has been hit and miss in the last couple of years. They did some great work on Rainbow Six Siege for example but other, open-world titles like Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Watch Dogs 2 and even Ghost Recon: Wildlands could be and should be better.
However, the developer is famous for its implementation of in-game benchmarks, which players can use to easily find the best possible settings and frame rate for their hardware. Speaking about settings, Ubisoft's games are regularly rich with graphical options so you can tweak everything to your liking.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will look to continue the tradition of exclusive PC features according to the latest trailer, which showcases a new partnership between AMD and Ubisoft to bring AMD's FidelityFX features to the upcoming shooter.
FidelityFX combines Contrast-Adaptive Sharpening (CAS) along with Luma Preserving Mapping (LPM) technologies to deliver sharper visuals in games. Furthermore, the feature "collapses multiple effects into fewer shader passes" which helps to reduce overhead and free up your GPU load to spend the resources on other things.
As for other features that PC players can look forward to, the trailer showcases support for ultrawide monitors, ultra graphics option, 4K uncapped frame rate, and partnerships with Discord and Tobii for gameplay and menu eye-tracking.
There's also standalone PC benchmark and Ubisoft also promise full PC optimisation. Of course, this is a really nice bunch of PC features, but the question remains - just how well will Ghost Recon: Breakpoint perform? Hopefully a lot better than some of the games we've mentioned earlier.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is officially hitting the shelves on 04 October 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. For more news about the game, take a look at the "always online" feature and how to get access to Breakpoint closed beta.
