Treyarch announced a new limited-time mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout dubbed Down But Not Out. In this mode exclusive to squads, players will respawn with each new circle as long as they have one teammate alive to revive them.
With the start of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's free 7-day trial, Treyarch also announced additional content which is now live on PlayStation 4. Down But Not Out is the first of new limited-time modes for Blackout and it will bring an interesting twist to standard battle-royale mechanics.
The new mode will allow players to revive their fallen buddies after each circle. This means that as long as one squad member is alive during the circle collapse, others will have the opportunity to respawn.
The idea isn't really new and reminds of Fortnite's limited-time mode Team Rumble which also allowed the players to respawn as much as they like. But it's still an interesting approach by Treyarch with a minor change and it will certainly bring some intense final circle fights.
Down But Not Out is exclusive to squad mode at the moment and it's already live on PlayStation 4 with PC and Xbox One releases coming later. Players will get to try it until 30 January 2019 and the new mode will also be included in the 7-day trial which will end on 24 January 2019.
Recently, a Blackout bug showed just how hectic things can get when there's a high number of players in last circles, and Down But Not Out with its respawn system has the potential to add similar carnage to Blackout matches.
If you're yet to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the free trial could be a great chance to give it a go and who knows, you may actually like it. Also, there's a 115 Day Celebration Event going on at the moment and it doubles the Zombies XP, Zombies Weapon XP and Nebulium Plasma rewards.
On top of that, new epic elixirs and Gauntlets have also arrived on PlayStation 4. Players will get to race against the clock in 30 rounds of challenges before hitting the laboratory to try out the Perk Up, Refresh Mint, and Conflagration Liquidation elixirs.
