Epic Games have rolled out the 6.21 update to Fortnite: Battle Royale, adding a whole new way to catch air - balloons. Semi-auto sniper, guided missile and dual pistols have been vaulted, although the latter will be available in Playground.

Balloons only come in epic variants and each comes with a fat stack of 20. Balloons of course. You and Pennywise are probably thinking the same thing - do they float? Yes, players can float with up to 6 balloons, which have a shorter duration at maximum build height, so as to prevent funny stuff.

Epic even threw even a mechanic to make the whole thing more skill based, where primary fire inflates balloons, while secondary lets go of one. They can be found pretty much everywhere, floor loot included, so expect a lot of shenanigans in the following days.

Fortnite grappler has got a few physics tweaks and grappling as a passenger in a vehicle will factor in the velocity of the vehicle into the grapple force, but only if it will make a net gain. Passenger grapplers will also have their vehicles travel in a straight line instead of an arc.

Epic wrote they're satisfied with the results of the first week of their glider redeploy feature and while they understand that not all players love it, they'll keep pushing and iterating on it. Moreover, they prioritised the sound of Fortnite's gliders over weapons, to make sure sneaking up from the air isn't as easy.

As for the rest of the changes, Epic turned up fiend hunter crossbow sounds and finally decreased the monstrous volume of cube monsters and their spawns. According to the patch notes, grass animation will now run smoother as well, since it updates more frequently.

Epic also reminded players that Fortnitemares event challenges will be fizzing out on Sunday, 04 November 2018, so if you're keen on getting the dark engine glider, you may want to hurry up.
