Yesterday, Season 2 officially arrived to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare but the rumoured battle royale mode is still missing. However, it should not take long before the biggest multiplayer mode goes live in Infinity Ward's shooter.
Those who fired up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare yesterday, after the Season 2 update went live noticed a mysterious "Classified" title added to the game's main menu. Of course, players immediately started speculating that this could be the rumoured battle royale mode, which was discovered in the game files recently and by the looks of it, it could indeed a battle royale but Infinity Ward and Activision are yet to officially announce the mode.
Another proof was posted over at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare subreddit, where a Redditor shared an in-game cutscene which, reportedly teases the battle royale mode. As you can see here , the video ends up with a plane flying over a huge area which is being overcast by green gas. Four characters can also be seen jumping out of the plane.
Now, there is a lot of proof that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's battle royale is imminent, but you may ask when exactly is going live. Sadly, no one knows at the moment but the earlier rumours suggested it is definitely coming in Season 2.
Since Infinity Ward and Activision are already teasing the battle royale with in-game cutscenes and menu items, it is safe to assume that it should not be long before players jump into the massive multiplayer carnage.
Modern Warfare's battle royale mode is rumoured to be free to play . Apparently, it will be available as a direct download if you have not bought the base game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
