According to former senior editor at Game Informer, now Kinda Funny host Imran Khan, From Software may not show any Elden Ring gameplay this year. However, Khan clarified that things could change by the end of the year.
From Software's next big project Elden Ring is one of the most anticipated games of the year but it's been a while since we heard about the game. Yesterday - June 9, 2020 - marked a year since the reveal trailer which premiered at E3 2019 and since then From Software have been completely silent.
And it looks like they have a big reason for that silence. According to Imran Khan, who is a former senior editor at Game Informer and now a host of Kinda Funny show on YouTube, Elden Ring gameplay may not arrive in 2020.
Of course, just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info, you should take this with a grain of salt. While Khan may be a reliable source, he could have some older information and it's always possible that From Software change their mind.
When asked to clarify his earlier tweet about From Software's projects which will be coming in 2021 and 2022 and whether he was talking about Elden Ring, regarding the gameplay reveal Imran responded:
"Last I heard, no gameplay this year. But, again, things can change. Do not under any circumstances take this as gospel. I asked about it and that is what I was told."
As you can see, Khan is not 100 per cent sure about this as things can quickly change but the lack of info about the game may suggest that Khan's sources could be spot on. This would come as a major disappointment to many fans who were eagerly awaiting to see first gameplay footage of the game.
All in all, we hope that this time, Khan is not correct and that we'll get to see some Elden Ring on the upcoming next-gen events.
