xDefiant beta is currently in full swing and by the looks of it, Twitch viewers seem to prefer this Ubisoft shooter more than Call of Duty Warzone 2.
Ubisoft's new arena shooter xDefiant has entered beta a couple of days ago and despite some technical issues with the servers, it seems that the game has managed to attract quite the following on social media and Twitch.
At the time of writing this article, with 45k viewers, xDefiant was ahead of Call of Duty Warzone 2 on Twitch. Activision's shooter wasn't even close to xDefiant with only 15k viewers watching the streamers play this battle royale.
Of course, this is not the entire picture since Call of Duty Warzone 2 usually picks up more viewers later in the day (CET) and will probably jump in front of Ubisoft's shooter but nonetheless, for a game that many expected to fail, this is great news.
It's also a solid foundation to build on. xDefiant did had issues and still has plenty of stuff to iron out but with player feedback, the developers will hopefully sort out the desync, balancing and everything else that beta players mentioned over these last couple of days.
xDefiant shares a lot of similarities with Call of Duty gameplay-wise. Both are fast-paced shooters with small maps and teams where movement seems to be the key. That could be one of the reasons why xDefiant seems to be picking up views on Twitch. Oh, and it doesn't feature SBMM, unlike Call of Duty.
xDefiant closed beta is set to run until April 23, 2023, on PC , PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S . If you didn't register for the test, you can still participate by watching the game on Twitch. More on that in the official FAQ.
