XDefiant's Year 1 Season 1 update has made the Spiderbots of the DedSec faction even deadlier than before. Mark Rubin has addressed the ongoing Spiderbots issue, stating what went wrong with the update.

XDefiant's Year Season 1 update is out now. The Season 1 update introduced new GSK Faction and Clubhouse map from Ubisoft's original IP Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. Aside from that, the new update also featured the addition of two new weapons.

Besides plethora of content, the XDefiant Year 1 Season 1 update has also introduced various in-game changes to weapons and, most importantly, factions. The DedSec faction was adjusted by fixing a bug which was present in the game since its launch.

The DedSec Faction has an ability to dispatch a Spiderbot as the passive ability which disrupts all forms of player equipment by sticking to their faces. The only way of countering the Spiderbot was by shooting it while it was approaching a player. However, with the recent update Ubisoft has made an unwanted change to counter the Spiderbot.

Spiderbots become uncontrollable with the new XDefiant Year 1 Season 1 update

In a recent tweet after the Year 1 Season 1 update, Mark Rubin talked about the issue players are facing against the Spiderbots. Since the game's launch, players have been able to counter DedSec's Spiderbot by shooting them off their face while it was approaching them.

However, with the Year 1 Season 1 update, the XDefiant developers accidentally nerfed the counter, as it was a known bug. Although shooting the bots was an unintentional bug, players have become accustomed to shooting them off as they approach them.

As the counter was nerfed, players are facing difficulties in destroying the Spiderbots even with the longer cooldown. Addressing this issue, Mark Rubin mentioned that "We are reverting that fix to the next non-emergency patch. So you will again be able to shoot them off your own face by shooting at your feet. The other changes to the spiderbot will remain. i.e., longer cooldown, etc."

The Spiderbot remains one of the most unbalanced faction abilities since the game's launch. Fortunately, Mark Rubin also addressed this issue with promises of making more changes to the Spiderbot and making it more balanced for all player groups in XDefiant.
