Ubisoft have officially announced their new title named Tom Clancy's XDefiant. Yesterday, the rumours suggested that the game would be called Battlecat but somehow, the publisher managed to come up with an even worse name.
Tom Clancy's XDefiant is described as a fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense gunplay with personalised loadouts.
As you may expect from online shooters, XDefiant features teams of characters but in Ubisoft's game, these are called Defiants.
These characters are coming from other Tom Clancy games and have unique abilities with primary and secondary weapons, attachments and devices that you can add to your loadout.
If the game looks interesting to you, you can register on the official website for the closed test which is coming on August 5 for PC players in the US and Canada. Ubisoft also promise more tests later on for the rest of the world.
As for game modes and maps, we know there will be plenty of "uniquely designed" maps in rotation and there are modes like Domination and Escort available. You can also expect classic Team Deathmatch.
Ubisoft say no two matches will feel the same in XDefiant.
Tom Clancy's XDefiant will be launching on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
