Gator Rush is the first free update for The Crew 2 and it is now live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. To top it off, Ubisoft have announced a free weekend event for the game, which will be accompanied by discount sales on the game.
According to the official post, the free weekend will happen in order to celebrate the launch of Gator Rush. If you find it you don't trust official posts from time to time, you might prefer to think the free weekend is an attempt to revitalize the game, since it can barely get , just three months after launch.
Granted, the game is also available on uPlay so Steam Charts doesn't offer a full view of The Crew 2's playerbase, but it's still rather suspicious that it took only 90 days to offer a 45 per cent discount on the game.
Anyway, the free weekend started on 27 September and will conclude on 30 September 2018. As per usual, any progress you make will be carried over to the full game and you can play with any friends you have, regardless of whether they own the game or are just giving the free weekend a shot themselves.
You can see the exact starting and end times on the official , along with an FAQ that might provide answers to any additional questions you might have. The 45 per cent off will be available via Ubisoft Store or the PlayStation Store for the duration of the event.
As for Gator Rush, you may have connected the dots already since this is a game that features vehicles on different surfaces and "gators" immediately remind people of swamps. The DLC will focus on hovercraft racing as it will add five hovercraft for purchase, 20 new activities and a new Ace difficulty mode as well as a new rarity tier - Legendary.
If you were on the edge of buying The Crew 2 before, this may be your prime opportunity to test the game out for yourself and eventually snatch it while discount lasts, should you decide it fits your taste. Players and critics both perceived The Crew 2 as a mediocre game on so you might want to check it out for yourself first and decide whether it belongs in your library.
