Destiny 2 has had constant issues since Trials of Osiris was introduced but the latest problems for Bungie have been resolved and the mode is coming back this Friday.
Bungie has resolved one problem in Trials of Osiris and while it had serious ramifications on the frequency of gathering loot that was meant to be fairly exclusive, it's safe to say this is one of the lesser evils in the game mode.
Namely, the reason Trials was disabled last week and two weeks before that is the same - people were win trading to ensure Flawless runs for both teams and get all the juicy Adept weapons. Bungie initially thought the re-join issue resolved and re-enabled Trials but people quickly figured out they could still do it and countless Flawless runs ensued.
With the TWAB from March 18, 2021, came the announcement that Trials would be coming back at the regularly scheduled time. The drawback is that Bungie completely removed the re-join function in order to make sure win trading would be impossible.
It would be terribly ironic if cheaters started DDoS-ing opposing team members and people had no way to reconnect. Considering the enormously high amount of Flawless run was bad for business when it comes to recovery services, this could mean Bungie inadvertently helped these less than ethical individuals who keep raking in cash from those willing to pay for Trials loot.
That said, Bungie folks are expecting to re-enable the feature in a future update.
Anyway, Trials of Osiris will resume on Friday, March 19, at 17:00 GMT so if you're trying to get some of the gear, this is the date to save.
