Frogwares has released a 12-minute gameplay trailer for The Sinking City 2, showcasing a new location, tougher enemies, advanced weapons, and New Game+ ahead of launch.

Developer Frogwares released a new 12-minute gameplay trailer for its upcoming Lovecraftian-inspired survival horror game today, The Sinking City 2.

Providing the longest look yet at what players can expect from the sequel, the new footage introduces players to a new location, more enemy encounters, expands on the game’s combat, and confirms The Sinking City 2 will support New Game+ from day one when it releases August 18, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Starting with new location, gameplay showcases Arkham Fish Market, what used to be one of the city’s most populous waterfront areas filled with merchants, fishermen, dockworkers, and travelers from around the world. Now it’s just another area filled with flooded buildings, rotting fish markets, abandoned ships, empty workshops, and empty streets.

The trailer also introduces more of the remaining citizens of Arkham who have been hard hit by the mysterious flooding event that has slowly overtaken the city. Many of the few remaining sane survivors have slowly lost their minds as the events of the city continued to unfold.

New enemies are on display and consistent with past sightings, this fresh location of Arkham helps set the stage for more creepy atmospheric exploration and stumbling into another deadly area teeming with new threats.

Weapon and gear selections have noticeably leveled up from previous gameplay demonstrations, showing players equipped with higher-level firearms and gadgets. Larger foes are on display too, tossing players around with aggressive attacks that will force players to adapt to survive.

Frogwares is seemingly going bigger with both enemy variety and size the further players progress into the game’s campaign. In conjunction with today’s gameplay reveal, Frogwares announced players will be able to enjoy New Game+ once they finish a playthrough of The Sinking City 2.

Upon completion, players will be able to start a new game while retaining their earned perk points, unlocked perks, and gathered items from their first playthrough. The mode also introduces new challenges, achievements, and cosmetic and gameplay rewards for players to enjoy.Frogwares also provided an update on the post-launch roadmap for the game.

Players will receive support for HDR via a free update after launch. The developer says it made the decision so it could ensure it had enough time to properly polish the base game and its features leading up to launch.
