Frogwares have revealed the PC system requirements for The Sinking City 2, their upcoming Lovecraftian survival horror, alongside opening pre-orders ahead of the 18 August 2026 launch. If you're planning to play on PC, here's what you'll need under the hood.
The Sinking City 2 PC specs
The requirements are fairly approachable at the lower settings, though the recommended tier obviously asks for a bit more power. Notably, an SSD is required, not just recommended, and the install weighs in at 70GB.
Minimum (targeting 1080p / 30fps, Low preset):
- OS: Windows 11 x64
- CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- RAM: 16GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD RX 5700 (8GB VRAM)
- DirectX: 12
- Storage: 70GB, SSD required
Recommended (targeting 1440p / 60fps, Balanced preset):
- OS: Windows 11 x64
- CPU: Intel Core i5-14600K / AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
- RAM: 32GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti / AMD RX 7900 XT (12GB VRAM)
- DirectX: 12
- Storage: 70GB, SSD required
Frogwares note both targets were evaluated using TSR and comparable upscaling technologies. A bit disappointing that we won't be able to reach these targets withouth upscalers but it is what it is.
One interesting late development: the studio revealed they moved the entire project over to Unreal Engine 5.8 with roughly two months to launch, citing performance gains they felt were worth the effort.
Pre-orders and pricing
Pre-orders are now live across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and Frogwares have decided to put the Standard Edition at $49.99 / €49.99 / £41.35, which publishing director Sergiy Oganesyan framed as a fairness call, noting most survival horror games now launch at $60 or more. The studio, who develop remotely across Ukraine and beyond, said they wanted to give as many people as possible the chance to play.
There are three editions, each stacking on more bonus content:
- Standard ($49.99): base game plus the Chthonic Arsenal weapon pack
- Deluxe ($54.99): adds The Arkham Field Kit (three outfits, early Talent unlocks, a resource pack)
- Premium ($59.99): adds the Holloway Manor bonus quest and 24-hour advance access
The Chthonic Arsenal, included with all editions as a pre-order bonus, bundles three themed weapons: the "Shale Mary" handgun, "Breakwater" shotgun and "Tektite Tommy" SMG.
The Sinking City 2 launches 18 August 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, priced from $49.99 / €49.99 / £41.35. Pre-orders are live now across all three platforms.
