In Pokémon Snap, players will take on the role of a budding Pokémon photographer and work with Professor Mirror and his assistant, Rita, on an ecological survey to photograph Lental Pokémon thriving in nature, when it releases for Switch on April 30.
After a very successful year, Nintendo aren't slowing down in 2021 either. In addition to several already announced hits that will be released very soon, such as Monster Hunter Rise, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, a new Pokémon Snap game will be released for Switch in April.
Judging by the reactions on the internet, Pokémon Snap for Switch could be one of the most beautiful Pokémon games ever. In the freshly released trailer, we can really enjoy the beautiful landscapes from the Lental region. Although it is a spin-off game, Pokémon Snap is already tickling the imagination of what future Pokémon games might look like, and/or why aren't they already looking this good?
For those who don't know, Pokémon Snap is essentially a Pokémon photo-mode game, in which you take pictures of your favorite Pokémon in their natural habitat while trying to score as many points as you can, depending on your photography skills.
Players will be able to visit the many beautiful isles of the Lental region, filled with diverse ecosystems from dense jungles to vast deserts. The archipelago of the region is an untouched natural marvel, packed to the brim with Pokémon just waiting to be seen.
Pokémon Snap features an all-new adventure for Nintendo Switch inspired by the classic Nintendo 64 game Pokémon Snap, with over 200 Pokémons scattered all around the beautiful region, ready to be photographed, and evaluated by Professor Mirror.
Professor Mirror will evaluate your photos. Your scores will be based on your subjects’ poses, how large they appear, how directly they’re facing you, and their placement within the frame.
As you take photos and keep researching, you may get to see Pokémon look and behave in different ways than before.
Take lots of photos, get them evaluated, and keep the best shots to build your own Photodex in New Pokémon Snap!
New Pokémon Snap will be available April 30 on Nintendo Switch, and it's available for pre-ordering now.
