It looks like The Last of Us Part 2 is finally coming to PlayStation 5. The game was discovered in the PlayStation database by social media X user PlayStation Game Size, who are usually spot on when it comes to leaking such information before the official announcement.
The details are pretty scarce so we don't really know when exactly could Sony and Naughty Dog announce the PS5 version but if we had to guess, we would say that The Game Awards 2023 show is a safe bet.
As for the improvements that we expect to see in this native PlayStation 5 version of The Last of Us Part 2, some visual enhancements are probably coming and potentially, there could be some new content too.
The Last of Us Part 2 Director's Cut was previously teased by the game's composer, who revealed that the release will feature new content like new guitar tones and more.
"In the new editions you can make me play certain themes and well, I can't tell you anything else," he said.
Additionally, it will be interesting to see if Sony announce the rumoured PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 along with the native PS5 port. The Last of Us Part 1 Director's Cut is already available on PC so it's safe to assume that the sequel is also coming. It's just a matter of time.
In case you are not familiar with The Last of Us franchise, the first part is one of the most beloved video games of all time, selling millions of copies worldwide. The sequel wasn't as successful due to the controversy with the game's story and the way it dealt with fans' favourite characters.
A third game is yet to be announced but there is a multiplayer project in the works, which reportedly is having development issues and has been delayed recently.
