Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment have announced they will be releasing a bit of new endgame content for The Division 2 on 05 April 2019. It includes World Tier 5 with higher gear score cap, a balance update and the Tidal Basin stronghold.
Massive Entertainment held another State of the Game on Wednesday, 27 March 2019 and revealed what will come in the next big update for The Division 2. For starters, the long-awaited World Tier 5 will finally arrive and raise the gear score cap from 450 to 500. You can technically go above that with recalibration, in the same manner that some players broke through 450 already.
World Tier 5 will also introduce Weekly Invasions that have a week-long timer as the name suggests. These invasions will see strongholds and even more missions being marked as invaded and will feature additional loot rewards for the first completion of the week on each difficulty level.
Tidal Basin will be a completely new stronghold and will be inside a Black Tusk base which has been described as a high tech facility, along the lines of Shadow Moses from Metal Gear Solid. No snakes, ninjas or toilet-needing guards have been confirmed but the devs did say it will be a bit different from other strongholds and that it will feature more verticality.
The update will also introduce three Gear Sets, named True Patriot, Ongoing Directive and Hardwired with the first one being awarded at the end of the new stronghold. Heroic difficulty will be made available for those seeking more challenge and it will apparently be even more generous with drops.
Weapons, as well as weapon and skill mods, will receive a balance pass but the developers specifically stated these will not be targeted towards PvP. Therefore, the one-shot sniper will probably remain a thing for the foreseeable future but Massive noted they are keeping an eye on all the player feedback on the forums.
