After a long wait, we finally have some information concerning The Division 2 and its upcoming Title Update. According to the dev team, the next TU will be a doozy.
Faye Lau and her rouge lieutenants' return signalled the start of The Division 2's Season 7 back in September. Since then we've had a precious few updates on what is next for the shooter, until now. The Division team just shared their thoughts on the current state of the game as well as their plans for what's coming next.
Currents state of The Division 2
The team has been working on new content, a fresh game mode and coming up with some changes to The Division 2's endgame. In their words, the upcoming Title Update will be the "most ambitious to date". With the sheer bulk of work still remaining to be done in mind, the devs have decided to push the release date of the new Title Update all the way back to February 2022.
Working on the now delayed Title Update and Season will not, however, take away from the devs' everyday tasks of supporting the game in its current state or working on the most pressing issues irking the community at large.
What's next for The Division 2
The Division 2's next Title Update will be detailed in a series of in-depth articles meant to explain some of the key features and changes coming in February 2022. To this end, the Intelligence Annex initiative is coming back and will be shared with the fans on a monthly basis.
The first episode of the series will go live on October 28 and feature an introduction from Trick Dempsey, Expert Game Designer, about one of the key changes from the next update: the Specialization Revamp.
Season 7 will end in December and its crescendo will be accompanied by an in-game event as well as a reintroduction of some beloved global events, associated with new rewards and an apparel event.
The Division 2's new Season and its associated content will be revealed in January 2022. A dedicated PTS period will be organised on PC to collect players' feedback in the lead-up to the release.
