The Division 2 is getting a batch of free content on 30 July 2019 when the players will gain access to the Expedition missions' Episode 1. The first Episode will feature two missions in total and will pick up the story after main missions.
The Division 2 story came to an abrupt end after we cleared out all the main missions and four faction strongholds. Considering the Expeditions will focus on missions that continue the story after the completion of Tidal Basin, consider the rest of the article will have spoilers.
Episode 1 will have two separate missions that will put us on the trail of loose ends that were left after conquering the strongholds. President Ellis was revealed to be a traitor in cahoots with the Black Tusk while the Outcast leader, Emeline Shaw, did not meet her end at the hands of Division agents since she managed to escape the Roosevelt Island.
The first mission, Camp White Oak will send the agents after Ellis. Not much was revealed about the mission yet but a single line states that Division will execute "a well-planned attack into the presidential compound" which is totally not ominous. We predict the chance of things going wrong looks slightly higher than at League of Legends Season 3 World Championship.
Manning National Zoo is where Emeline Shaw set up shop after being chased out of Roosevelt Island. She is trying to rebuild the outcasts and the official description states that The Division agents are looking to nip Outcasts' reawakening in the bud by eliminating her.
Now, the actual titular Expeditions will be a different bit of challenging content that promises a bunch of rewards. The activity is set in Kenly College.
Ubisoft
Players will have three wings of the area to complete and each area will unlock on a weekly basis. Completing all three wings will provide access to a treasure room but Massive and Ubisoft didn't specify what exactly we will find there or if the activity will have any exclusive loot.
