Hogwarts Legacy's new release date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles is April 4, 2023, Avalanche announced.
Warner Bros. Games' highly anticipated open-world action RPG Hogwarts Legacy has a new release date on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles. Luckily, the current-gen and PC versions are on track to launch in February 2023, just as previously announced.
"Hogwarts Legacy will launch on April 4, 2023, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on July 25, 2023 for Nintendo Switch. The team is looking forward to bringing you the game and we want to deliver the best possible game experience across all platforms," developer Avalanche confirmed on Twitter.
Two years ago, we'd be criticising Avalanche for such a decision but PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are now widely available and at reasonable prices too, especially that little Series S beast, so it's totally understandable that the team want to focus on the current-gen platforms.
For those who are really, really excited to play Hogwarts Legacy, Avalanche will have 72 hours early access starting on February 7, 2023. Early access is available for the owners of Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition.
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch won't have early access even if you pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of the game.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to reveal its new gameplay tomorrow - December 14, 2022, at 07:00 PM CET. The showcase will introduce us to a new look at broom flight and traversal, advanced combat, and the Room of Requirement. You can watch the stream here.
