Hogwarts Legacy is the second best-selling retail PlayStation 5 game in Japan

Hogwarts Legacy is now the second-best-selling retail PlayStation 5 game in Japan, with only Gran Turismo being ahead of it, and for the "non-Japanese" game, it represents a huge success.

Hogwarts Legacy has kept breaking records since it came out on February 10, 2023. First, it became the most-watched single-player game of all time on the streaming platform Twitch, and then it also broke the Warner Bros. Games record for being the company's most-played game with over 280 million hours played worldwide.

Now, according to the sales figures, it has reached second place on the list of all-time best-selling retail PlayStation 5 games in Japan, with only Gran Turismo 7 being ahead of it. So far, 154,174 PlayStation 5 copies of Hogwarts Legacy have been sold in Japan, and those figures are still growing.

Given its rapid popularity, Hogwarts Legacy appears to have been a huge success for Warner Bros. Although it is currently only available for PC , PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S , this action-adventure set in the Wizarding World has already earned the company $850 million. Given that versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One , as well as the Nintendo Switch , will be available in a few months, these numbers will significantly rise.
