Command and Conquer fans are in for a treat with the latest announcement from THQ Nordic and Slipgate Ironworks, who are bringing Tempest Rising forth.
Have you been suffering from a severe lack of classic RTS titles over a prolonged period of time? Did that C&C Remastered collection awaken the hunger for the good old days? If so, there is good news for you - while EA chose to forego releasing new games in this genre, THQ Nordic didn't.
However, since it's getting announced in 2022, Tempest Rising boasts some beautiful graphics, which you can check out both on the screenshot and trailer below. There is currently no release date but the game has been in development since 2019, albeit secretly.
Slipgate folks are not masking their intent - they are aiming to bring back that feeling of base-building strategy greats from late '90s and early 2000s and having been deprived of them for around two decades, we couldn't be happier about it.
Even the plot is somewhat similar to a certain C&C entry as the world has suffered from a nuclear war and now a rare element has started appearing in the more irradiated areas.
The two factions, GDF and Dynasty, escalate the conflict as they both want it. Naturally, this also means we get two campaigns, one for each side, with a third faction available in multiplayer. The Steam page for Tempest Rising should be up now, where you can get even more details about the upcoming RTS.
