Flow Fire Games announced Synthetik: Ultimate Edition which will be released on consoles and PC at the same time, although the owners of the latter platform can already play the game.
Synthetik released on March 16, 2018, and has been one of the most beloved games on Steam ever since, despite the difficulty which can result in frustration, which is the inherent trait of roguelite games. In fact, the players loved it so much that the game boasts 96 per cent positive reviews on Steam, one of the rare titles to have a score that high.
It is now arriving to consoles and the game should feel rather natural for that audience since it already works well with controllers. Given the isometric setting, which is almost at a top-down angle, one could see Synthetik as a bullet hell type of game and they wouldn't be wrong since that's one of the genres the devs borrowed elements from.
Despite being released more than two years ago, Flow Fire are going to release a massive update on December 16, 2020. It will be free for Synthetik owners on PC while it will be the only version console players can purchase.
In addition to PC, the game will be available on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch while the PlayStation 4 version will be announced at a later date.
The Ultimate update will include weapon modding, firing range, enhanced story, new rare enemy squads, new music, new final room and more unannounced additions. Full patch notes will be available on release day.
