Tomorrow, May 7, 2024, marks the date when EA will treat us with a new update for Apex Legends, an update that contains content presented as a new season, the 21st, to be exact. This new season goes by the name of Upheaval, and apart from usual updates and benefits, it will bring back solo mode along with the presentation of the new playable character.
A new playable character will be an interesting, devil-like girl (horns and all that), called Alter. Her special abilities will include the possibility to travel throughout the different realities, and as the official video suggests, she will be drawn by the worlds that are on the edge of destruction.
She will have the ability to grab loot boxes from a distance, and teleportation through the portals she will create should be her game-changer skill. Also, it will not be her exclusive special power; all other players on the same team will be able to use it as well.
Another very important thing we will get with the new season is the return of the Solos mode, the mode where players can play Apex Legends solo without the involvement of other teammates. This mode was present about five years ago in Apex Legends, somewhere at the very beginning of this live service. However, it didn't last long, and the developers decided to exclude it.
Now it is back and it remains to be seen if it will be accepted better than the last time. This mode will be available from the beginning of the new season all the way to June 24. There is ample time to see if the players will accept it and play it, or if it will have the same fate as five years ago.
Apex Legends is a multiplatform free-to-play service available on almost all possible platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles, and mobile devices.
