Speed running extravaganza of 2018 has already commenced months ago during the winter part of GDQ but now it is time for the sunny part of the event - Summer Games Done Quick. It is already underway, so here are stream links and spotlights.

If you're looking to ruin your game skill self confidence or help bring attention to an event that raises money for charity, you can visit GDQ's official . Speaking of charity, GDQ usually switches between different causes between events, and this time around it's for Doctors Without Borders.

Doctors Without Borders, as the name suggests, is a charity that provides medical assistance in over 60 countries all over the world to victims of either man made or natural disasters. These disasters also include victims of armed conflicts and Doctors Without Borders offer assistance to anyone, regardless of their religion, race or creed.

GDQ organisation proved to be a formidable partner for any charities they raised money for, as they managed to raise over $1.7 million in 2017. Donators also enter a lottery of sorts, and those who donate $15 or more can win Ninja Gaiden Definitive Edition or an eighth generation console or a gaming pc if they donate $150 or more. Full prize list can be found .

Summer Games Done Quick will feature 155 speed runs in total and you can check whether your favourite game is on the list . While it actually is mostly speed runs that are happening during the event, there are other runs with challenges that don't involve a time counter. For example, during AGDQ 2018, TheMexicanRunner went through the infamous Turbo Tunnel stage of BattleToads - blindfolded. You can check the challenge out on the video below.

At the time of writing, SGDQ had already managed to raise almost $179.000 less than 24 hours since the event commenced, which is already looking like a flying start. With it, SGDQ is looking ready to tackle the previous record as the highest donations usually come in during the last day of the event.
