The latest trend in the video game industry is to offer players a chance to pay some extra money to play the game before its official release date.
Some of the games that included this practice are Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4 and the next in line will be Starfield, the sci-fi RPG from Bethesda.
Starfield is officially set to launch on September 6, 2023, on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Windows Store, but you can play it five days earlier if you get the Premium Edition, Premium Edition upgrade or the very expensive Constellation Edition.

How to play Starfield on September 1?
- You can get early access by purchasing the Premium or Constellation Edition of the game, which cost $100 and $300, respectively.
- If you don't want to spend all that money, you can get the Starfield Premium Edition upgrade for $35.
- Though, this only works for those who have an active Game Pass subscription. Since the base game is on Game Pass day one, you are paying only for the Premium Edition content, which includes early access.
- Premium Edition upgrade is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC only via Microsoft Store (Xbox app). You can't get the upgrade on Steam.
