Starfield Deep Dive which aired just over a week ago introduced us to various gameplay systems and worlds that we'll get to explore once this sci-fi RPG from Bethesda and Xbox finally releases.
The deep dive packed so much information that Starfield fans are still discovering new things and potential new features that Bethesda have not talked about. One of these features could be a spacesuit colouration system, which allows you to change the colour of your suit and armour pieces.
Eagled-eyed Redditor Krimxonrat has spotted a resource called Pigment, which can be looted from certain alien fauna and potentially used to dye your suit and perhaps even some other things, like items inside your ships and outposts.
That would pretty much mean that we would be using alien blood to colour your suit, armour and more stuff. A very interesting and cool mechanic, to say the least.
However, keep in mind that this is just a lot of speculation at the moment as we don't have an official confirmation from Bethesda that this is indeed in the game. Yes, Bethesda did confirm that we will be able to mod our suit and armour and it's safe to assume that changing colours will be one of the options, but until it's official, take everything with a grain of salt.
Starfield director Todd Howard said there are still plenty of things that they have to show us so there's a chance a closer look at armour modification could be one of the features we see over the coming months.
Starfield officially launches on September 6, 2023, for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It will be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass.
