Sony have officially confirmed that Spider-Man Miles Morales is a standalone expansion which will also bring several major enhancements to the original game from 2018.

Last night, Sony and Insomniac Games revealed Spider-man Miles Morales, a standalone expansion with a brand new story, set in a snowy New York. Many fans of the superhero title assumed that this is a full-fledged sequel to 2018's Spider-Man but Sony confirmed this is a much smaller title, not a full sequel.

However, it looks like Miles Morales expansion will bring a lot more than just a regular DLC. In the latest interview with The Telegraph, Sony's EVP head of European Business, Simon Rutter explained that the new title will also bring big improvements to the original title.

According to Rutter Miles Morales is both an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game. "There's a substantial Miles Morales component – which is the expansion element – but also within the game as well there’s been major enhancements to the game and the game engine, obviously deploying some of the major PlayStation 5 technology and features," he explained.
