The development of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) can't seem to catch a break. A while back, we got reports that this RPG was in development hell and delayed indefinitely. Apparently, two major directors left the project at that time and eventually, the higher-ups decided to pause the development to look for new contracts and development opportunities.
If this wasn't a huge red flag, then we have even more bad news that will spark concern amongst KOTOR fans. Today, it's been spotted by eagled-eyed X users that Sony, who were one of the publishers, removed all mentions of the game from their X profile and blog and made the reveal trailer private on YouTube.
At the time of writing, Sony are yet to release a statement regarding this but it looks like something strange is happening behind the scenes.
Is it possible that the game is cancelled completely? We wouldn't be surprised and that would be our guess. However, keep in mind that there's also a chance that Sony are walking away from the project and exclusivity as they don't feel the game's quality is good enough.
According to some earlier reports, PlayStation bosses saw the game at one point and made a comment that it wasn't cinematic enough, which really speaks for itself.
All in all, the game is not officially cancelled yet so there's still hope that someday, we might get to play this Remake but as things stand, that won't be happening in the next couple of years.
