Dungeons and Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC on July 15 for $29.99.
Aspyr has shared a new trailer ahead of release to showcase what’s included in the game’s massive enhanced edition, which comes with the base experience and all official expansions. The trailer also teases a few of the new features being added to the remastered release.
Neverwinter Nights 2 is an RPG from 2006 that was originally developed by Obsidian Entertainment. It’s set in Dungeons & Dragons’ Forgotten Realms setting and uses the D&D 3.5 ruleset.
Players are given access to all 12 classes and 16 races available in the game from the start and the campaign takes place in the popular setting of Faerûn.
Enhanced Features and Mod Support
This re-release goes beyond a simple remaster.
The Enhanced Edition brings a variety of quality-of-life improvements, including:
- Controller Support: Complete with a reworked user interface to accommodate gamepad users.
- Improved Visuals: Featuring enhanced textures and cleaner camera control for modern displays.
- Steam Workshop Integration: PC players will now be able to easily browse, install, and use community mods, campaigns, and tools.
The most compelling part of Neverwinter Nights 2 for many players is its toolset that let them create and publish custom campaigns.
Aspyr is planning on integrating Steam Workshop to help breathe new life into the game’s modding community and make it easier for players to access mods.
Aspyr has only given a small glimpse into the full list of updates but more details will be released in the lead up to launch.
