Phony have unveiled their PlayStation Plus freebies for the month of June 2018 and we're looking at six games, including headliner XCOM 2, Trials Fusion, Zombie Driver HD, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and two PS Vita games.
Each of the platforms in fact gets two games, with XCOM 2 and Trials Fusion being for PlayStation 4, Zombie Driver HD and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for the PS3, while Atomic Ninjas and Squares are made for PS Vita.
We'll start off with XCOM 2, which really shouldn't need introduction but we'll give it anyway. For starters, it's a $59.99 game but if that's not enough, we're talking about a game with a lengthy history and a trophy cabinet to match.
The popular turn-based strategy will have you incite a rebellion to rid the Earth of alien scum, the same scum who took over our pale blue dot during the events occurring in its predecessor XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
Trials Fusion is Ubisoft's take on motorcycle trials, events where people go with a motorcycle where no sane man would go on foot. Trials Fusion made quite the splash when it launched back in 2014, reaping unnaturally high scores for this type of game.
Onto the PS3 titles, although Zombie Driver HD sure doesn't play like it. The name says plenty - you're driving around and killing zombies, much like you were once running over people in GTA, except with way better graphics. Zombie Driver HD premise wouldn't suggest fun, but squishing zombies is just so fun.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is an old friend, having launched back in 2012. I don't think we need to explain anything here but here we go. Tom Clancy. Tactical. Shooter. Go.
The remaining two games are for PS Vita. They are Atomic Ninjas, a cute little platformer with some clever mechanics, and your mandatory monthly filler Squares. Not that this puzzler is bad, it's just not what you'd expect from Vita's capabilities. In fact, its YouTube trailer shows just what fans though about it then.
