NetherRealm Studios have released another patch for their brutal fighter Mortal Kombat 11. One of the most notable changes comes to Scorpion's Hell Port move, which has been nerfed and it's now a high attack instead of a mid attack move.
Mortal Kombat 11 has received another update that has introduced a fresh batch of changes, fixes and other improvements. The big focus of the developers in the new update was balancing and almost every fighter from the game's roster has been tweaked in the patch, some getting nerfed and others getting buffed.
These balancing changes didn't skip one of the most popular characters in Mortal Kombat 11 - Scorpion. The resurrected ninja got the most controversial change that seen many Scorpion mains slamming it over on Reddit and social media.
One of the Scorpion's moves is named Hell Port and it allows highly skilled players to use it for almost unstoppable combos. Hell Port was extremely difficult to block, it required a perfect timing from the defending player. However, the latest Mortal Kombat 11 patch makes one key change to Hell Port that will make it a lot easier to defend against.
Hell Port is now a high attack instead of a mid attack, which means that players won't have to time their blocks to perfection anymore, instead, they can simply duck and avoid the attack. Furthermore, to make things even worse for Scorpion mains, the defending player can also follow up with a deadly uppercut.
Many players feel that this change makes Scorpion's Hell Port too easy to dodge and counter, making the character a lot weaker overall. However, there are others who disagree and welcome the change, saying that the nerf finally brought balance to Scorpion's move.
NetherRealm Studios will probably monitor the feedback in the next few days so they can tweak it a bit if necessary. It will also be interesting to see if Scorpion's popularity drops on Mortal Kombat 11 tier lists, where he was ranked pretty high.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
