As discovered by , the v11.30 update contains files that point to the yet-to-be-announced annual Battle Pass, and they even found some cosmetic items that are presumed to be part of the new monetisation option.
"Purchase the 2020 Annual Pass and receive all upcoming 2020 Fortnite Battle Royale: Battle Bundles and 7 Annual Pass exclusive cosmetics. Battle Bundles unlock 25% of content in each Battle Pass instantly upon release", it says in the files.
There's no mention of the price, or when we may see it, but the same sources claim that Epic will be announcing specifics on tonight's The Game Awards, although "tonight" may be early morning hours depending on where you're at. The show itself kicks off on Friday at 2:30 AM GMT+1.
We sure hope Epic share some news because they've been mighty quiet ever since Fortnite: Chapter 2 kicked off. Their patch notes stopped going into details and usually just highlight a few specifics, letting the players feel the rest out.
Fortnite v11.30 only mention Split Screen, which is now available to PlayStation and Xbox One owners, and some cosmetics-browsing improvements. There's also the upcoming live screening of an exclusive scene from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but you probably knew about that.
