You probably know that as of Chapter 2, Epic haven't been overly generous with details in their patch notes, and this time it's no different. The first one is about consoles:
- Play Duos and Squads with a friend on the same PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
- This is an early release of Split Screen; we will continue to improve the feature. Please report bugs via the in-game Feedback tool.
Fortnite players can now use Party Hub to preview the Item Shop from their mobal device. Daily Item Shop gifting limit is up from 3 to 5.
The ammo indicator has been changed from a solid bar to a visual representation of the leftover ammo. Also added was a Continue key on the Eliminated By screen that will take you to the end-of-match XP screen.
Epic seem to be keen on outdoing their Fortnite's Marshmello concert has broken the game's CCU record with the Star Wars scene screening. In case you didn't catch it, here's the announcement in full:
"Next weekend, something from a galaxy far, far away is visiting Risky Reels. On Saturday, December 14 @ 2 PM ET, drop in as director J.J. Abrams will reveal never-before-seen footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker live at Risky Reels. Grab some popcorn and watch the exclusive scene in-game ahead of the movie's release, only in Fortnite! Remember to drop in early at 1:30 PM ET when the doors open."
In the absence of official details, FortniteCompetitive subreddit went and assembled notes, where they found that snowmen are easier to hop in and out of, and can be broken and used as a snowball. There's also the Lump of Coal, 20-damage throwable.
