Latest Elden Ring leak comes from a prominent leaker Omni, who claims that the open world in From Software's next title is inspired by Shadow of the Colossus; will feature weather cycles and dynamic enemy placement.

From Software's action RPG Elden Ring is one of the most anticipated games of 2020 and therefore it is a subject of many discussions, leaks and rumours. We already got several unconfirmed details that Elden Ring will feature a vast open-world, which will be more open than in any From Software game before.

Today, a prominent leaker Omni , who previously provided several correct information regarding From Software games has new details about Elden Ring and its open world. Omni claims that From Software are pivoting away from calling it "open world" and moving more towards the distinction of "open field".

"[From Software want] to denote a greater openness than past games have provided while also staying away from popular and overused open-world trends," Omni wrote in ResetEra thread. The leaker also claims that this does not mean Elden Ring will be just "a Dark Souls game with areas that are now big enough to ride a horse through".

Elden Ring will feature a lot of open sections as well as more "corridor-like sections" which are found in previous games. Omni says that the best way to describe Elden Ring's world design would be to use Shadow of the Colossus' "amazing sense of scale". The landscapes of the world have been inspired by Scotland so expect a lot of vast open areas with lakes, rocks and hillsides.

Furthermore, the world will be packed with dynamic features such as weather and day and night cycles, and dynamic enemy placements.

Now, even though the leaker has been reliable in the past, we suggest you take the details with a grain of salt, just like any other leak, rumour or unconfirmed info. That being said, the leak sounds pretty exciting and we can't wait to see the first glimpse of the Elden Ring world and its scale.

Elden Ring is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Release date is yet to be confirmed.
