Riot Games is making adjustments to the jungle in League of Legends Patch 13.14, which is intended for Ranked Split 2. The jungle role has been a subject of debate in the League of Legends community for a significant period. Riot has been prioritizing balance changes for the jungle during the early patches of the year in Preseason 2023. However, once they felt they had achieved a certain level of balance, the jungle role received fewer updates.
Historically, Riot has focused on buffing or nerfing jungle champions rather than implementing broader changes to the jungle itself. Although Patch 13.13 aimed to bring overall balance to the game, there are still some unresolved issues that Riot needs to address.
In response to this, Riot is once again altering the jungle in Patch 13.14. The changes were revealed early on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) server, indicating that Riot has identified specific aspects of the jungle that require adjustment.
Buffs
Patch 13.14 will introduce several jungle changes, including both buffs and nerfs. Let's begin by discussing the buffs that will be implemented:
- Gold Per Treat: The gold gained per jungle monster kill will be increased from 20 to 25.
- Blue Sentinel Buff Ability Haste: The Ability Haste provided by the Blue Sentinel Buff will be adjusted from 10 to a range of 5-20, with an increase based on the player's level.
The change to Blue Buff Ability Haste is an overall buff, as it will revert to its previous value at level 6 and then progressively increase by 1 per level, providing more benefits to junglers. The slight increase in Gold Per Treat is aimed at addressing the relatively low gold income from jungle farming and should encourage junglers to adopt a more farming-oriented playstyle.
Nerfs
Moving on to the nerfs, the following changes will be implemented:
- Red Brambleback Buff Damage: The damage range of the Red Brambleback Buff will be reduced from 10-78 to 10-75.
- Red Brambleback Melee Buff Slow: The slow effect applied by the Red Brambleback Buff for melee champions will decrease from 10-20% (level 1-11) to 5-20% (level 1-16).
- Red Brambleback Ranged Buff Slow: The scaling of the slow effect applied by the Red Brambleback Buff for ranged champions will be adjusted from 5/7.5/10% (level 1/6/11) to 5-10% (level 1-11) with linear scaling.
