League of Legends' highly anticipated Arena game mode will be launching on live servers in conjunction with the Soul Fighter event, set to debut in patch 13.14, slated for a release date of Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Currently, League of Legends features two primary game modes: Summoner's Rift and ARAM (Howling Abyss). While occasional limited-time modes appear, these modes are generally simple and occur on Summoner's Rift.

In the past, there were other game modes that took place on different maps. Twisted Treeline, Dominion, and Nexus Blitz were among the notable ones. Twisted Treeline and Dominion were ultimately removed due to their low player base and issues with botting. Nexus Blitz, however, was not permanently removed but has not been reintroduced due to concerns about its impact on the game's interface and other elements. Furthermore, Riot Games, has been tight-lipped about upcoming game modes since the release of Teamfight Tactics.

However, earlier this year, Riot confirmed that they were actively working on a new game mode. This mode will involve teams of 2v2v2v2 and will take place on a distinct map. Apart from these details, not much additional information has been revealed. The game mode is scheduled for release during the large summer event.

LoL Arena game mode

Riot Games has announced the introduction of "Arena," an upcoming game mode in League of Legends that combines elements from Teamfight Tactics and the classic League of Legends experience. Arena will focus on intense 2v2 combat and introduce brand-new maps for players to battle on.

Similar to Teamfight Tactics, this mode will be structured in rounds, with each round featuring two teams pitted against each other. The losing team will suffer point deductions, and once a team's points reach zero, they will be eliminated from the competition. The mode will continue until only one team remains standing.

To add an element of surprise, the pick phase in Arena will be entirely blind, meaning players won't be able to see the enemy team's champions during selection. This opens up the possibility of mirrored matchups and adds an extra layer of strategy to the game.

A new summoner spell called Flee will be introduced, serving a similar purpose to Ghost but with the added twist of being upgradeable or replaceable through augments.

League of Legends players can look forward to the release of Arena, which promises to deliver thrilling 2v2 action, strategic blind picks, and exciting new maps to explore.

Ranked system

The upcoming Arena game mode in League of Legends will introduce a ranked system with various tiers for players to progress through. The ranked tiers in Arena will include Wood, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Gladiator.
