The Riot development team has released the recent patch notes for Valorant and they started the change log with this message:
"There has been a wave of competitive rank boosting with bots and real players. In an effort to protect against this abuse, we have introduced restrictions where Ascendant players and higher can only invite players with Platinum rank and higher to their competitive party."
Till now, players could 5-stack with teammates of any rank without any restrictions (bronze with ascendant, diamond, immortal etc.) and the high rank teammates would often outperform the enemies. Patch 7.05 will aim to stop that.
As for agent changes, Astra is getting a little buff after the recent nerf hammer that happened with the original release of Sunset. Going in and out of Astral form gives Astra back some agency and information, allowing her to react to enemy footsteps and utility she may have missed while in Astral Form.
Astra will now be able to hear everything happening around her physical body while in Astral form.
Lastly, the change that might have the community a little split (get it, like the map?) is the fact that Sunset will now be in the map rotation for Competitive mode. Competitive map rotation includes Sunset, Breeze, Ascent, Haven, Bind, Split, and Lotus.
Sunset was quickly labelled as the "rat central" of Valorant due to the amount of tight corners players can hide in and gain an unfair advantage over their enemies. Hopefully, Riot will reconsider its map design and introduce a few changes to it.
