During their recent earnings report, Remedy have provided an update on their upcoming titles, which include Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes among other projects.
Remedy previously stated that both games are in concept phase but it looks like the dev team moved further along since then and now have a clear vision of the scope and the idea of the remakes.
The developer stated that an exceptionally well-organized team are working on both games, which should reassure the fans of the beloved originals that released way back in 2001 and 2003, respectively.
Here's the interesting tidbit regarding Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes from Remedy Entertainment's earnings call:
"Max Payne 1&2 remake progressed into the production readiness stage. We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well organized team working on it."
Unfortunately, Remedy did not provide additional details on the projects. We still don't know when to expect these games but since the project only left the concept phase, it will probably be a while before we get a reveal trailer and first screenshots.
We'll simply have to stay patient for a couple of more years. Max Payne 1 and 2 are expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Until then, you can play other Remedy games like the excellent Alan Wake 2, which just launched a couple of days ago and it's a strong game of the year contender. Previously released Control and Quantum Break are also great choices.
