The development of May Payne 1 and 2 Remakes is well underway and has reached the full production phase, developer Remedy Entertainment confirmed in their latest earnings call.
A while back, Remedy said the game was about to enter full production and it indeed looks like that was the case since then as the dev team are now all hands on board with these remakes.
In case you're not familiar with the game development phases, full production is when the dev team creates all the assets, design levels, programs the game mechanics and makes sound and music.
It's pretty much the part of development where the majority of work gets done. Once the dev team is done with the production, they will move to the testing phase with the aim of squashing bugs and identifying issues for fixing.
At the moment, Max Payne 1 and 2 Remakes do not have a release date which is not surprising since the game just entered full production. If I had to guess, I'd say we probably won't see it until sometime in late 2025.
The remakes are expected to bring a substantial visual uplift to the game, with some modern features like ray-tracing and quality-of-life improvements when compared to the originals.
