Krafton released a preview of what is to come in PUBG and that includes a fan-requested map change as well as a brand new gun.
One of the ways to keep things fresh in a shooter game is to introduce new guns and PUBG is getting exactly that at some point between April and June 2022.
The new weapon will be a 7.62 assault rifle, which may strike players as odd since the teaser looks a lot like the Beryl and now it's the same category as well. Krafton noted the reason for adding this particular weapon to the arsenal is to enrich the selection of 7.62 rifles and this one will between Beryl and the AK in regards to performance - it will be easier to control but deal less damage than the former while being harder to control and deal more damage than the latter.
Another big change coming to PUBG in the same period is the rollback of the Sanhok map. The devs tried to modernise it over time but the players liked the original design much better and it's for this reason that the map is going back to the original state.
Still, the team is unsure about how many of the new features they want to remove from the map but it will mostly be reverted to the original form.
Additionally, one more map, named Kiki, will be added at some point between June and September 2022 while it will get updated after September. This is also when Vikendi will get revamped.
