EA have rolled out a trailer for their brand new shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. The dev announced a paid founder's edition that will let you try it out a bit earlier and help EA in ironing out any nasty wrinkles.
Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville officially launches on 18 October 2019. Hopping aboard the founder train gets you exclusive and early access, and the offer lasts until the end of September.
Judging by the trailer, which looks gorgeous and suggests the game is great fun, we seem to be looking at a rightful successor to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare series, which has been a blast - figuratively and literally.
"Welcome to Neighborville, where all is well. Except that a crazy new coniferous conflict between brain-less and botanicals is brewing! What are you gonna do - call the crops? Soil your plants? Prepare to kick some grass as a Founding Neighbor in the craziest conflict between plants and zombies yet", EA wrote.
The developer promises new champions and co-op mechanics that strongly encourage you to stick to your team...yes, literally.
Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville comes with 20 customisable character classes, with newcomers like Oak and Acorn, Night Cap and others.
It boasts six online multiplayer modes - you'll be team-defending your territory in Turf Takeover, farming Crazy Orbs in Vanquish Confirmed, duke it out in 4v4 Battle Arena, and even play in split-screen, although you should know that this feature is only for console players.
" Squad up with up to three friends in the Giddy Park social region and take back Weirding Woods, Mount Steep, and Neighborville Town Center. Each region contains quests to complete, enemies to fight, items to discover, and glittering Golden Gnomes", EA wrote.
