It has taken a few delays, but Phasmophobia is now finally coming to consoles, and the game's developer, Kinetic Games, has revealed detailed performance targets across different platforms.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will feature two modes: Quality and Performance in Phasmophobia, targeting 4K resolution at a locked 60 FPS.
Similarly, owners of the Xbox Series X have the option to play the game at 120 FPS for an even smoother experience, while others may want a higher frame rate. In this direction, PS5 ruling out the 120 FPS option takes place.
The game will run in 1080p at 60 FPS on Xbox Series S, but there will only be a single mode available since the console hardware is quite weak.
In its PlayStation VR2 form, it will run natively at 2000x2400 resolution per eye, further improved to include a 60Hz refresh rate and reprojection of 120Hz for increased immersion in virtual reality.
First launched on PC in 2020, Phasmophobia immediately became a sensation as a co-op horror game, moving more than 20 million copies in its early access.
The game combines a spooky ghost-hunting theme with unique mechanics that have indeed thrilled fans. The release on October 29 will come with optimizations in visuals to truly immerse players in the gameplay and provide smooth performance, marking not only the expansion in the haunting experience of Phasmophobia but also a great opportunity for fans.
