Riot Games have recently banned Nubrac, a League of Legends streamer not many people liked after another streamer, Nightblue3, reported him. The latter was now banned as well for the displayed toxicity during the controversial ranked match.

Nightblue and Nubrac's altercation took place almost two weeks before the former's ban, which happened on 21 June 2019. Nubrac was banned about a week earlier though, raising concerns over Riot Games' preferential treatment .

That is not to say that Nubrac didn't deserve his ban but a whole controversy flared up because the player base was now aware that famous streamers could get players banned and their voice was stronger than that of probably tens if not hundreds of regular players.

High-profile streamers are usually targets of trolls and griefers, which is the reason why most League of Legends streamers obfuscate the minimap interface these days. It appears that Nightblue saw Nubrac's behaviour as a personal attack which prompted the famous jungler to flame and threaten his teammate.

Those actions actually caught up with him which led to a 14-day ban . This way, Riot somewhat absolved themselves of the look of a company that tends to give preferential treatment to certain individuals, despite them being toxic.

On the other hand, the fact that Nightblue's ban was delayed by a week compared to Nubrac's could hint that it only happened because the public outcry and attention it brought.

Whatever the case, the public consensus for the moment is that Riot Games did the right thing in both cases since both players deserved the bans. Nighblue for toxicity and Nubrac for griefing his teammates.

This controversy shouldn't cause Rioters to lose too much sleep though as it is a minor one, compared to the in-company allegations and potential lawsuits they are facing.

The most likely cause of lost sleep could prove to be Teamfight Tactics though, but not in a bad way - any sleep lost over its success would be due to a celebration.
