Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom, released on 27 February 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. It's the ninth mainline entry in the franchise, directed by Koshi Nakanishi - the director of Resident Evil 7 - and serves as both a celebration of the series' 30th anniversary and a culmination of storylines stretching back to Raccoon City. It was announced at Summer Game Fest in June 2025 and quickly amassed over five million wishlists before launch.
The game introduces FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft as its lead protagonist, joined by the long-awaited return of Leon S. Kennedy in his most prominent role since Resident Evil 6. Gameplay alternates between the two characters, with Grace's sections leaning into the tense, resource-scarce survival horror of Resident Evil 7 and Village, while Leon's sequences shift toward the action-heavy style of Resident Evil 4. Both characters can be played in first-person or third-person perspective. Critics awarded the game universal acclaim, praising its tone, atmosphere, and balance between horror and action. It sold five million copies in its first five days on sale, making it the biggest launch in the franchise's history.
