Rockstar Games has published a new patch for Grand Theft Auto V PC players, bringing support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation on NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 and RTX 50 Series graphics cards.
The new graphics feature is meant to offer a significant increase in frame rates while preserving image quality, with particular benefits for those playing the game at 4K resolution and with ray tracing enabled.
NVIDIA states that DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation will deliver an average of 3.9 times better performance at maximum settings on RTX 50 Series graphics cards. These new features come on top of DLSS Super Resolution, NVIDIA Reflex support, and full ray-traced effects added as part of the Enhanced Edition update earlier this year.
Key Additions in the Update
- DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for RTX 40 & RTX 50 Series GPUs
- AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation support
- DLSS Frame Generation option for even more performance
- Up to 3.9x frame rate boost at 4K with ray tracing on RTX 50 Series
- Maintains Enhanced Edition upgrades: ray-traced ambient occlusion, global illumination, shadows, and reflections
While Rockstar hasn’t published the full patch notes yet, early reports suggest smoother gameplay in ray-traced scenes that were previously GPU-intensive.
AI-Powered Frame Generation Combines with Ray Tracing
Ray tracing was introduced to Grand Theft Auto V PC in January of this year after launching on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, adding significantly higher hardware requirements for the full suite of enhanced graphical effects.
DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation combines AI-powered frame rate boosting to help players achieve playable frame rates while playing with all graphical settings maxed out.
Availability
Grand Theft Auto V was first released in 2013, but it continues to get significant updates. This latest patch is now available for PC players using the supported NVIDIA graphics cards.
