The modding community has only just released mods for Dragon Age: The Veilguard to improve gameplay and beautify moments for players on PC.
Though less than a week old, already-popular ones on Nexus Mods include performance-improving tools, customized character presets, and reshades that dial down the purple hue.
The Veilguard doesn't have official modding tools, but modders are continuing to push what's possible within the BioWare's game.
Vktrfly's Dark Fantasy Visual Mod
Among the more popular mods so far is Vktrfly's "Dark Fantasy LUT", which changes the color of the game to remove as much of the purple/magenta tint as possible to give it a more atmospheric feeling-a Dark Fantasy.
The goal of this reshade was to make the game feel closer to earlier Dragon Age entries and not quite so vibrant, almost cartoonish-like, in the case of The Veilguard. This shift would be saddled in place for fans who miss the gritty realism ofsay-Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2.
Performance Optimisation by ChemBoy1
The next most downloaded mod is the "Anti-Stutter - Performance Enhancer" mod by ChemBoy1. It optimizes the way the game handles CPU and disk usage, thus helping it to run a lot more smoothly on lower-powered systems.
This mod prioritizes the game's executable for CPU and disk processing, which reduces stuttering to next to nothing for players on lower-spec machines.
Nyctaginae Character Presets
RPG enthusiasts into customizing their main characters will love Nyctaginae's custom preset of the protagonist Rook in The Veilguard. Her Ayse de Riva character, inspired by an original character she has had since long ago, adds to this depth in characters that one can customize in-game.
With any of these presets, one can mold in-game characters as memorable personas forge through the game.
A Growing Modding Community
While The Veilguard doesn't have any official modding tools-as in, similar to Larian and CD Projekt doing so with Baldur's Gate 3 and The Witcher 3, respectively-modders are continuing to push what's possible within The Veilguard.
That said, further releases from the same developers or otherwise of the games like Baldur's Gate 3 or The Witcher 3 could very well shape BioWare's influence to support modding in the case of Dragon Age.
As no DLC is in the pipeline for The Veilguard, with BioWare shifting full steam to Mass Effect 5, mods may become synonymous with a longer shelf life and an overall better experience for its gamers.
