The quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the latest RPG from BioWare, are pretty straightforward, where all you must do is follow the quest marker without any additional effort to discover something on your own.
However, a quest you'll stumble upon once you reach the Rivain Coast called "The Warden Vault" will require you to solve three quite complicated puzzles without knowing what to do in the first place.
If unlocking the Warden Vault and solving this quest remains a mystery to you, we have a guide that will help you solve it without too much of a fuss.
How to enter the Warden Vault in Grey Warden Fortress
The quest will unlock once you either activate one of the plates required for opening the vault or if you enter the great hall in which the majority of the quest actually takes place. However, if you do not know where to start the quest, go to the exact location shown on the map below.
Cross the beam, go through the passage on your right, then enter the room to the left. As you enter the room, look to the right; you'll see three shields with torches. Activate them until all three are lit. Once you do that, it's time to move. Exit the room and go upstairs to the left. Use the ability to drop the planks to make a climbable surface and climb it.
Enter the room on the right, and you'll notice a room ahead of you with three burning torches and the lever beneath them. Activate the lever and enter the room. There, you'll find a chest along with the first switch you need to activate to enter the vault. Don't forget to activate another lever to open the gate below; you'll need it later.
Now, for the second switch. Exit the previous room, and on the left, you'll see a ladder shortcut; activate it and descend into the large hall below. Go to the altar and enter the room on the right. Inside, you'll see a sword and some green butterflies. Activate the sword and quickly return to where you came from, but do not go up the ladder this time; instead, go through the gate you previously opened with the lever and turn left. Inside the next room, on the left, is the next group of butterflies.
Wait for them to turn into a spirit and continue forward to the next group. Enter the next room, turn left, and go upstairs, but do not climb the climbables yet. Instead, turn right to find the next group. Wait for them to become spirits and return to the hall whichever way you want.
Right from the altar, you'll see a spirit waiting. Approach it, and it will open the door—the next switch is inside this room.
Now, let's go for the final switch. Exit the room where you find the first spirit on the opposite side and go down the stairs until you reach the blocker you can remove with Taash's powers. Remove it and go all the way down until you exit the castle. Once you're outside, look to the right and use Taash's power once more; this will reveal the ladder. Climb it and take a wisp. Return inside the castle and take the first left. Go upstairs, and you'll find a hole in the wall.
The wisp will revive a skeleton, and it will open the door next to the hole. Behind that door is the final plate. Activate it, and you're set to pick up the Warden's treasure and finish this quest. Return to the great hall and go downstairs next to the ladder. Unblock the path, enter the room with three plates, and go through the door. Inside, you'll find three chests, and once you open all three, the quest will be finished.
