BioWare's upcoming and hugely ambitious Dragon Age: The Veilguard keeps amazing people with deeper character development by offering players more ways than ever to interact with companions.
Developers recently shared with IGN an innovative system to strengthen relationships with the members of your party through quest completion, whether or not the choices you make are in tune with the views of your would-be friends.
It is also worth pointing out, however, that even when your actions don't sit well with them, completing quests together still strengthens the bond. Game director Corrine Busche added that this system is more about learning about your companions rather than gaining their approval.
As such, it becomes highly relevant to take different characters along-even those that disagree with decisions-adding a deeper layer to party dynamics and exploration.
More importantly, the IGN video also gave detailed information about the central companions who would see Rook through his storyline. The seven key members include Veilguard, Neve Gallus-Ice Mage for the betterment of Minrathas, Lucanis-an Antivan Crows assassin who had to go through a lot of development changes-and Bellara, a Veil Jumper elf with immense electric powers.
Other notable characters include Emmrich, a Necromancer with a close attachment to a wisp inhabiting a skeleton; Davrin, a Grey Warden accompanied by his griffin Assan; Taash, a Qunari dragon hunter allied with the Lords of Fortune; and Harding, a familiar face from Dragon Age: Inquisition who links the narrative to the previous game.
Coupled with BioWare's focus on storytelling and party dynamics within this engrossing character-driven system, one can quite rightly expect a deeply immersive experience once Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
