Funcom have teased the announcement of their next Conan game and the reveal is set for Kinda Funny Games' showcase, which takes place on 8 December 2018. The developer did not share any additional information about the game though.
Conan the Barbarian's franchise is about to get richer by another game and that's heading for a full reveal this weekend. The developer of Conan Exiles and Age of Conan games teased the announcement on their official Twitter profile by inviting fans to tune in for the Kinda Funny Games showcase live stream on 08 December 2018 at 10 am PT, which is 7 pm in Central European Time.
During an investor call just over a month ago, Funcom confirmed that they have been working on six new titles including two new Conan games. We'll know more about one of them pretty soon but that's every bit of info we have right now.
It will be interesting to see whether Funcom opt for singleplayer RPG this time, seeing as how their last Conan projects focused on MMORPG and survival multiplayer.
Funcom's first Conan title was 2008's MMORPG Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, which received mostly positive reviews from critics and mixed ones from fans. Reviewers praised the game's attention to detail, combat and story but its messy launch and an overcrowded market did their damage.
Conan Exiles released on 8 May 2018 after two years of early access and it was Funcom's second game set in Conan the Barbarian universe. It's an open-world survival game and just like Age of Conan, the game had plenty of issues from the get go.
The developer tried their best to polish it but Exiles still suffers from bugs and broken elements. The average number of daily players on Steam is currently at 4,600 and its peak numbers go way back to February 2017, when more than 20,000 players tried to survive in Conan's harsh world.
