NetherRealm studios have revealed Mortal Kombat 11's alternate outfits for Raiden, Shao Khan, Erron Black and Cetrion. The new costumes feature bold shapes and rich colours to make the characters easier to read during the intense fights.

Mortal Kombat 11 outfits and cosmetics were a major part of NetherRealm's and WarnerBros. hype campaign in the last couple of months. In numerous live streams, interviews and Kombat Kasts, the devs talked about character customisation, which is more detailed than ever before in Mortal Kombat series.

You may know that in the previous instalment - Mortal Kombat X, you had the option to swap between different outfits for every character. For example, Scorpion was available in eight different outfits from his Standard skin to Kold War and Gold Scorpion.

NetherRealm is continuing the tradition in Mortal Kombat 11, and today, they have shared the first look at alternate skins for Raiden, Shao Khan, Erron Black and Cetrion. As you can see in the screenshots above and below, the outfits are dominated by bold confident shapes and rich colour.

The developers say that this was their plan all along - to make the characters easier to read during the intense fights. Also, the team focused on creating both past and present versions of all characters. However, for Shao Khan, this did not work as he was meant to be dead in the present time so the devs added a far past version of him.

NetherRealm say that while building characters for Mortal Kombat 11, they always looked for the opportunity to create fan-favourite retro looks. This was done with Raiden's skin which looks like the one in Mortal Kombat 2, only in different colour schemes that you can change in customisation options.

The brand new character Cetrion also got cool skin which you can see below. It's described as a representation of the dark side of the Mother Earth - a contrast to her lighter skins.
